Tips that Soothe the Winter Blues

Woolie Wear

Yes, you should hear it one more time that those wool caps suck the moisture and life out of your hair so, isn't it finally time to get that piece of satin or silk and sew it to the inside of your wool hat? If you aren't inclined to get out a needle, grab some safety pins and call it a cold day.

Glycerin: Let It Go, Let It go, Let It Go! [During the Winter]

Some of us love glycerin. During the summer, glycerin and other humectants pull moisture from the air right into your hair. Yay! But in the winter - just the opposite happens. During colder months, glycerin will pull in the harsh, dry air into your hair, so let the glycerin go!

Heavy On the Hair

That product that was too heavy on your hair in the summer months like shea butter, might just be the perfect touch for you hair in the cold. That extra heavy moisture will be sealed in to your hair as the wind and snow battle it out with your tresses. Go heavy.

Gimme A Break

Sometimes your hair screams at you "Gimme a break!". Maybe it's time to give in. Take a break from teasing, over-styling, poppin', coloring, knotting, flat ironing, streaking, over-washing, blow drying and over-styling some more. Give you hair a break for one to two weeks with a low maintenance hairstyle. It's like a good nap.
