BROADCAST WRITING
This class provides instruction in the fundamentals of television news writing. Learn how to write news scripts that are accurate, clear, concise and conversational. You will write in almost every single class and will explore the world of writing breaking news.
MEDIA LAW
This course will give you an overview of the legal issues currently facing most forms of mass media. From the FCC and libel to privacy laws and how the Supreme Court works, a number of topics are covered. You will also participate in oral arguments.
TV NEWSCAST
This a dynamic, highly interactive class serves as a live newscast to the Rowan University community. Each week, students rotate positions and serve as producers, writers, sports and weather reporters and more!
ON AIR PERFORMANCE
Sharpen your on air performance and learn exercises that will take you further in your career. Explore various performance types to shape the best version of you on TV!
ON CAMERA FIELD
PERFORMANCE
In this class, students write, shoot and edit stories for purposed of creating a portfolio for job searches. Students also learn the art of live shots, interviewing techniques, story element selection and other aspects of television news. After the class, students are prepared to take on the job as a TV reporter.
